ATLANTA, GA - July 22, 2014 - Angie Dobney, whose resume reads like a Who's Who in Gaming and Hospitality, has joined The Rainmaker Group as Vice President of Pricing and Revenue Management Services. She will be based out of Rainmaker's Las Vegas office.([email protected])

"I was completely happy and successful running my own consulting company and was making a great living. But I chose to join Rainmaker because I believe so much in the product, I love the team, and I want to help the company continue to grow," says Dobney, whose revenue management and hospitality industry career spans more than two decades."

Dobney, who for years was a Rainmaker customer and routinely pitched by other revenue management firms, says Rainmaker's GuestREV® revenue management solution represents the industry's gold standard for profit optimization.

"Number one, the product and all subsequent versions can easily integrate with other system providers and those companies do not have to upgrade their software to install it," she says. "Rainmaker also has great relationships with those vendors through whom it must work to get their data. It has a great science team and, toe-to-toe with other industry competitors, Rainmaker's forecasts are absolutely better."

Dobney has already begun the process of building her Las Vegas-based team.

"We'll be offering a wide range of services and assistance to Rainmaker's new and existing customers - everything from helping them uncover new revenue opportunities, to providing temporary revenue management staffing until the property can fill the position, to helping onboard and train new revenue management hires," she says. "For new customers, we can serve as sort of a de facto revenue management service because it's really tough to find revenue management professionals in the market who understand and get the whole picture. We are available to not only set, but to also execute strategies, if a customer needs us to do so."

Dobney emphasized that her team's services will not be limited to Rainmaker customers only.

"Our plan is to serve any company that needs project work, big or small, including, for example, managing all distribution partners, a corporate strategic assessment, or simply fine-tuning a property's wholesale or OTA partners."

Dobney's professional career began in hotel operations. She would eventually reroute her path, working for leading software companies, including Springer-Miller Systems and Newmarket International.

She began her revenue management career with Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas. After a nearly seven-year stint as Hard Rock's executive director of revenue management, she joined Station Casinos as its corporate director of revenue management. Most recently, she was president and lead consultant of The Dobney Group, a Las Vegas-based hospitality consulting company.

Dobney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and earned Mentor of the Year Award in 2007. She is actively involved with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, currently serving as a guest lecturer.
