Honey Lake Plantation Appoints New Director of Food & Beverage

July 16, 2014 - Honey Lake Plantation, a proper Southern plantation tucked away in the rolling Red Hills region of Northeast Florida, is proud to welcome Craig Colton as the new food and beverage director for the plantation and its Whispering Pines Restaurant. Bringing a wealth of hospitality and beverage industry experience, Colton sets the standards for genuine service, local Southern flavors, creative programming and a welcoming atmosphere at Honey Lake Plantation.

In this key role, Colton is responsible for the management and successful operations of all food and beverage processes as well as establishing uncompromised quality in guest services and managing on-property farming at Honey Lake Plantation. Colton also facilitates important relationships with local farmers and purveyors, ensuring the highest quality ingredients are presented at Honey Lake Plantation.

Prior to joining the Honey Lake Plantation family, Colton's background includes director of food and beverage at Boca Raton Resort & Beach Club and Boca Pointe Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla. Before working his way up in the industry, Colton earned his degree at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Calif. His post-graduate education includes certifications and education in beverage from Florida International University in Miami, Fla., Beverage Alcohol Resource in New York and the Club Managers Association of America that has courses at the top universities in the country, including Georgia State University, Michigan State University and Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, Calif.
