NewcrestImage Names Cathy Kuzski as President of Management Division

March 28, 2014 - Cathy Kuzski has joined NewcrestImage as president of the management division, with responsibility for operating the company's growing portfolio of properties. She culminated a 27-year career with Marriott International, serving most recently as Area Director for Select Service and Extended Stay Lodging in Texas.

Currently, NewcrestImage owns and operates 25 hotels with an asset value of more than $311 million, including properties under development that will open during 2014. Room revenues are expected to reach $50 million by the end of this year.

"During her distinguished tenure with Marriott, Cathy achieved an enviable record of increasing sales and market position at properties, while simultaneously achieving high guest satisfaction scores," says Mehul Patel, Chairman and CEO of NewcrestImage.

"We're excited about her ability to protect and to grow our assets, especially as we switch our business model from properties that average 80 to 150 rooms to larger properties of 120 to 250 rooms."

NewcrestImage has been particularly active during the past year, including the start of a $10 million renovation of the historic Cotton Exchange Hotel in New Orleans which later this year will become one of the country's first AC Hotels by Marriott.

In December, the company opened the first dual-branded hotel in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex -- a 181-room Courtyard by Marriott and a 120-suite TownePlace Suites by Marriott -- which is conveniently located near DFW Airport.

At NewcrestImage, Kuzski has a powerful team of hospitality veterans working alongside her, including:

Thomas Economos as Vice President of Revenue Management and eCommerce, who joined NewcrestImage in September of 2013 from Hersha Hospitality Management where he was a regional director for sales and revenue management

Elise Rutig as Vice President of Human Resources, who joined NewcrestImage in 2014 after six years with Rosewood Hotels and Resorts in Dallas

Justin Edwards as Regional Vice President of Operations, who has been with NewcrestImage for more than 10 years in a variety of operations responsibilities at properties as well as at the corporate staff level

Three Regional Directors of Sales -- Stu Arledge, who joined NewcrestImage in 2013 after more than 10 years in sales positions with The Starr Conspiracy and Marriott International; Beth Mahony, who joined NewcrestImage in October of 2013 after more than 10 years in sales with Texas Western Hospitality and Marriott International; and Samantha Owens, who has been with NewcrestImage since 2006, working first in sales and general manager positions at various properties, then joining the corporate staff in November of 2012

Dallas-based NewcrestImage has consistently grown its corporate staff so it can better manage existing properties and pursue new opportunities. There were 45 associates at the end of 2013, compared to 20 associates at the end of 2012. The company expects to have 700 associates at its properties by the end of 2014.
