. March 20, 2014

Quebec City - March 20, 2014 - The Hotel de Glace will close its 14th season on Sunday, March 23 at 5 p.m. There are just a few days left to visit the hotel and enjoy our brand new winter terrace, built on the roof for the final weekend. With an ice bar installed especially for the occasion, visitors can kick off spring sipping a cocktail in a sparkling ice glass. The terrace will be open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

“Going up on the roof of the Hotel de Glace is a great opportunity to see the whole site, with a view of Parc des Moulins and the city of Quebec. Visitors can relax and celebrate the end of the season in style” said Jacques Desbois, President and CEO of the Hotel de Glace.

Positive Results

Thanks to exceptional winter conditions, the organization announces positive results for the 2014 season. About 100,000 people walked through the doors of the Hotel de Glace this year, including visits, overnight stays, weddings and corporate events.

“Contrary to what you may have heard a few times over the past months, this winter's cold temperatures did not stop the crowds from visiting the Hotel de Glace. There have been over 85,000 visitors to date, a 5% increase compared to last year, meaning enthusiasm for the Hotel de Glace has not cooled down a bit” emphasized Jacques Desbois.

The Hotel de Glace booked over 5,000 overnight stays for the 2014 season. Some twenty weddings were also celebrated in the ice chapel. Three weddings are already booked for 2015.

Over 20,000 people came during March Break, including the 10,000 visitors who enjoyed our many weekday activities during Normandin Week.

Next year, the Hotel de Glace will open in January to celebrate its 15th anniversary. We'll be expecting you!

With its scintillating chandelier, its ever-popular Super Slide, its Ice Bar serving cocktails in sparkling glasses made of ice and 44 theme rooms and suites, the Hotel de Glace is a one of a kind experience in a spellbinding decor.
