Greenwood Hospitality Builds Metropolitan Hotel Management Team

Cleveland - March 20, 2014 — With the opening of the new Metropolitan Hotel now only months away, Greenwood Hospitality has assembled an impressive team to manage the property going forward. The team consists of industry professionals who possess significant industry experience and have strong track records of success.

The Metropolitan Hotel will be a centerpiece in the GEIS Companies' “The 9”, an urban mixed-use project in downtown Cleveland. Scheduled to open in September of 2014, the Metropolitan will occupy the former AmeriTrust tower and historic Cleveland Trust Rotunda and will be part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, a group of more than 50 independent hotels, each offering a discerning and unique guest experience.

Kenny Didier will be the property's General Manager. Most recently serving as General Manager at the Cleveland Marriott East, where he won the Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association (OHLA) 2013 “General Manager of the Year” award, Kenny is a hands-on operator who works closely with his team members.

Hamed Jento will assume the role of General Manager of Food and Beverage. He comes to the Metropolitan Hotel from Crazy Mountain Ranch, an 18,000-acre property in Bozeman, Montana, where was responsible for insuring high quality F&B standards for all departments including Dining Room, Kitchen, Off-Premise Catering, Purchasing and Casino. He also oversaw recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and developed a service team of over 100 employees.

Elaine McMichael will be the hotel's Director of Human Resources. She has been involved in the field of Human Resources for nearly 20 years, which includes time spent at the Renaissance Hotel and the Ritz Carlton.

Stefanie Allen will fill the role of Director of Sales. Stefanie has been successful in the sales arena for a number of years, spearheading numerous projects that have resulted in rapid business development and sales growth. Her most recent role was at the Lakeview Golf Resort in West Virginia.

Finally, Anna Madsen Phillips will serve as Controller. Anna has been involved the field of Accounting and Finance for a number of years. Her most recent role was at Nemacolin Woodlands Inc. where she managed daily accounting functions for three luxury, Five Star, Five Diamond rated properties with large Food and Beverage operations and high end amenities for their guests. Anna is also a member of the Association of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals.
