Arizona Biltmore, La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA WEST, to Undergo Multi-Million Dollar Upgrades

. March 06, 2014

MCLEAN, VA - March 6, 2014 - Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, a Hilton Worldwide brand synonymous with landmark destinations and unparalleled guest service, is embarking on a multi-phase transformation of two of its Western U.S. iconic properties:

The Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, dubbed "The Jewel of the Desert," with 740 luxury guest accommodations inspired by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, is a favorite destination among U.S. presidents, titans and celebrities. The transformation will include guest rooms and suites, meeting spaces, ballrooms, pre-function rooms as well as the prohibition-era Mystery Room. In keeping with Arizona Biltmore's storied legacy, a sophisticated palate of desert colors and mixed metals will be incorporated throughout the resort along with 1930s era artwork reflective of its rich history and prominence in Phoenix. Each guest room will be accented by sumptuous and contemporary furnishings with wall coverings that reflect the trademarked geometric and embossed stonework patterns for which Arizona Biltmore is famous.

La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort and PGA WEST, located in the Greater Palm Springs area features 620 guest casitas and suites with 98 one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. The resort is set amongst both mountains and some of the world's best golf courses and is known as the original "Hollywood Hideaway" of the Golden Era welcoming such screen celebrities as Greta Garbo, Clark Gable and Frank Capra. The resort's hacienda-style charm will be preserved as a transformation of guest rooms and casitas will juxtapose traditional Spanish-style architecture with contemporary furnishings. Infusing hues from La Quinta's hand-painted tiles and surrounding desert landscaping lush with citrus trees and colorful plantings, guest rooms will incorporate a foundation of rich chocolate tones, creams and terracotta while cool blues and pastoral oranges will be highlighted in the fabric choices.

"Enhancements to these landmark resorts will enable each to preserve the unique experiences that define them, while providing a new luxury standard of residential comfort that will make for even more memorable stays," said John T.A. Vanderslice, global head, luxury and lifestyle brand, Hilton Worldwide. "Inspiration for the transformation of these truly iconic resorts will draw upon their respective surroundings and culture to create a guest-centric experience that is truly as distinctive as it is welcoming," he added.

Throughout these renovation processes, both resorts will remain open with minimal interference on the guest experience. Work for both resorts will commence in the spring and is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
