Sandals Confirms Renovations Program at The Veranda

. January 04, 2013

January 4, 2013 - The Veranda resort in Turks & Caicos, newly acquired by Sandals Resorts International, has confirmed it will close for renovations at the end of the week.

The property, acquired by the Caribbean powerhouse in December, is expected to reopen in March. Bookings will not be accepted at the property until the project is completed.

The all-inclusive resort on Grace Bay Beach will become part of the adjacent Beaches Turks & Caicos. Once operational it will be renamed Key West Luxury Village.

“The property will make a great resort, but there are significant changes to be done to improve guest amenities. These must be addressed before the Veranda can transition to become part of Beaches Turks & Caicos as originally planned,” said Sandals International Chairman Gordon 'Butch' Stewart. “Closing is always a difficult decision, but the timing is right.”

Sandals is considered the World's Leading All-inclusive company by the World Travel Awards.
