TUCSON, AZ - February 1, 2011 - The heartbeat of the new Casino Del Sol Hotel & Conference Center continues to get stronger as the opening approaches on 11/11/11.

The casino's executive management team, the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Council, Tribal Elders and local elected officials will be in attendance for the dome celebration. In honor of the celebration the event will have a fireworks display.

“We are more than excited about the progress of the hotel; and the dome placement signifies much of the outside work has been completed and is on target for our grand opening on 11/11/11,'' said Wendell Long, Sol Casinos CEO. “Once the dome is placed on the top of the hotel, we will continue to work on the inside of the structure. It is going to be an eye-pleasing hotel and a pleasant experience for our guests. It will be simply spectacular.

“The project has gone great. We are ahead of schedule and below budget. And in just nine months, we will have a wonderful and beautiful addition to our already stunning casino. There will be nothing like it in Arizona.''

The dome's unique design and opulence is in line and consistent with the current style and flair of Casino Del Sol. The dome will be spectacular and brilliant in the night and day. The dome is 26 feet in diameter and 26 feet tall and weighs 11,000 pounds. It is built out of perforated copper and features color-changing LED lighting inside. The perforation allows the light to be visible at night but have the copper look during the day.
