Comtec Appoints CTO

SEPTEMBER 5, 2006. Comtec is appointing ex-CedarOpenAccounts Chief Technical Architect, Humphrey Sheil, into the position of Chief Technology Officer, based at the company's headquarters in South Wales.

According to Comtec, the new senior role has been created to ensure its technology vision and strategy is integrated with its functional roadmap for key initiatives such as the development of its eCommerce platform and integration with travel suppliers.

With a background specialising in enterprise architecture and integration with both CedarOpenAccounts and Sapient, Humphrey holds a M.Sc and B.Sc (First Class Honours) in Computer Science from University College Dublin.

Speaking about his decision to join Comtec, Humphrey commented, "I chose to join Comtec because of the unique vision and product offering that Comtec brings to the travel software industry. With the industry undergoing deep-rooted changes, my focus will be to define and lead pragmatic strategies which ensure our customers are offered technology that enables them to compete effectively, now and into the future".
