August 9, 2010 - Hilton Worldwide proudly announced the opening of its first Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Southeast Asia. Celebrated during a special commemoration ceremony amidst hundreds of civic officials, business leaders and company executives last night, the 540-guest room, 34-storey Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur rises high in the skyline of Malaysia's capital city within Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle district, just northeast of KL City Centre. Positioned along the prestigious Jalan Ampang at the Jalan Tun Razak crossing in what is known as Embassy Row, the Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur serves as a convenient gateway for all that Kuala Lumpur has to offer. Within steps of this newly transformed upscale hotel, the city's best shopping malls, dining, entertainment, the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre can be easily explored.

Doubletree by Hilton will introduce business and leisure travellers in Malaysia to the brand's longstanding tradition of distinctively designed hotels that reflect the destination and surrounding area. Other Doubletree by Hilton characteristic qualities include the warm worldwide welcome of the brand's legendary chocolate chip cookie to every guest at check-in, the rewards of the prestigious Hilton HHonors® loyalty programme and a unique caring commitment to the communities in which they operate. A rapid worldwide expansion of the Doubletree by Hilton brand since 2008 has seen an aggressive opening plan of upscale, full-service hotels and resorts in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Current confirmed and signed development deals will see the Doubletree by Hilton brand welcoming guests in more than 25 countries within the next two years.

Managed by Hilton Worldwide, the Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur is owned by MGPA Asia Fund II and is part of a world class integrated property called The Intermark. Besides the hotel, The Intermark also has on site a Retail Podium, and a grade A office tower. Another new office building, which has been awarded Platinum LEED pre-certification, is scheduled for completion in 2012.

Immediately upon entering the hotel a relaxingly fresh design scheme welcomes guests with some of the most modern hotel amenities and services available. Each of the 32 m2 (350 sq ft.) standard guestrooms offer outstanding city and Klang Valley views and are equipped with spacious workspaces and seating areas, high-speed Internet access, flat-panel LCD televisions, complimentary in-room coffee and tea service and luxurious bath and body products. Located on the 11th floor is Makan Kitchen, the hotel's 350-seat signature restaurant, which showcases a true Malaysian dining experience.
