Birmingham Hyatt Place Celebrates Grand Opening

JUNE 5, 2009 - Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Southern Hospitality Services, The Welden Field Group, Corporate Realty Development, and Golden and Associates Construction today announce the opening of Hyatt Place Birmingham/Downtown.

The hotel offers:

  • 150 spacious guestrooms, all of which feature a 42-inch HDTV, the plush Hyatt Grand BedTM and an eight-foot sectional sofa-sleeper

HYATT PLACE BIRMINGHAM/DOWNTOWN LEADERSHIP

Hyatt Place Birmingham/Downtown will be under the leadership of General Manager Todd Hudgel and Assistant General Manager Lance Chretien, with the support of Charlie Gargus and Jameka Brown in sales.

Hudgel, a 16-year industry veteran, will be directly responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including overseeing the hotel's 40 associates and ensuring guests encounter the purposeful service for which Hyatt Place is known. Assistant General Manager Lance Chretien will assist Hudgel in these duties.

Hudgel and Chretien will be joined by Charlie Gargus, a 25-year industry veteran, and Jameka Brown, experts in hotel sales and sales systems. This team will be responsible for providing sales service and support to travelers and meeting planners frequenting the greater Birmingham area.
