ATLANTA, GA, August 4, 2006. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)]announces plans for a new 100-room Candlewood Suites hotel in Manassas, Va., just south of the Dulles International Airport. The new extended-stay property is expected to break ground this winter and open at the end of 2007.

Standard Candlewood Suites guestrooms feature studio or one-bedroom suite floor plans with a full kitchen, large workspace with comfortable desk chair and overhead lighting, overstuffed recliner and VCR/DVD and CD player.

"We look forward to providing an extended-stay experience to our guests in Manassas," said J. Naran, general manager. "Candlewood Suites' unique amenities enable our guests to live according to their own schedule and needs, not the hotel's."

The new five-story property will be located off I-66 just minutes from key area attractions, which include Splashdown Water Park, Historic Old Town Manassas, Manassas National Battlefield and Nissan Pavilion at Stoneridge. Several key businesses are also close by, such as Lockheed Martin, Micron Technology and BAE Systems.
