Hilton to Build 50 Branded Hotels in China

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, July 12, 2006. Hilton Hotels plans to open its first Conrad-branded luxury hotel in Shanghai in 2008, and build a total of fifty in different brands in China, according to the China Daily.

This was revealed by its CEO Stephen Bollenbach during his visit to Shanghai.

Hilton's high-level managers also released that Hilton had ranked the fifth among its worldwide counterparts after the integration of Hilton brand.

Hilton has been emphasizing on the markets of North America and Europe, yet it is attaching greater importance to the Asia-Pacific and Middle East, especially the Chinese market. Market personnel have started to look for partnership for Hilton Garden Inn, one of its brands, in China.

As introduced by Bollenbach, Hilton owns about ten brands, which are of different grades. He compared Waldorf and Conrad to first-class cabins, while Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn were referred to as commercial cabins.
