ProHotel Sets Sights on Worldwide Expansion
HOUSTON, TX, September 5, 2006. ProHotel International, the hotel management and ownership company specializing in small luxury properties, has embarked on an aggressive expansion program worldwide. The Houston based firm, known for the Riviera Maya's Ikal del Mar, has earmarked Latin America and Europe as its prime targets. The firm, which grew out of 18 year old ProHotel International marketing, presently has 17 projects and properties in operation or development, ranging from the Riviera Maya and Marbella to Madrid, Honduras and the Spanish Pyrenees.
ProHotel International's approach is to create properties unique in concept that seamlessly blend into their environment, incorporating local culture and a strong sense of place. ProHotel was most recently in the news in June when the company sold Ikal del Mar to The Kor Group. "We secured what is arguably the highest price ever fetched for a property on Mexico's Mayan Riviera," said Samir Saab, CEO. The firm has managed the property since the sale and will be pulling out in late October of this year. "We want to concentrate our development on our new Mayan Riviera jewel, Esencia (essence)," said Saab, "and have plans to use the name in other properties worldwide as we're convinced it resonates with today's traveler looking for sophisticated simplicity," he concluded.
