Dakota Mountain & Golden Door Spa Appoints Executive Team

New Management Team Prepare for Resort's Unveiling

FEBRUARY 20, 2009 - Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa, a member of the Waldorf Astoria Collection, announced its new executive team comprised of General Manager Jim Miller, Director of Sales & Marketing Barbara Schmaelzle and Spa Director Sharon Ogawa. The luxury resort will debut in summer 2009, offering the Waldorf Astoria Collection's signature authentic luxury experiences for all seasons.

General Manager Jim Miller will oversee all aspects of Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa, a 201-room ski-in, ski-out property located at the base of The Canyons(R) in Park City, Utah, that will house the sixth Golden Door Spa, as well as the first outpost of the award-winning Spruce Restaurant of San Francisco. Jim moved to Park City from Waldorf Astoria Collection property Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa on Maui where he was the Director of Sales & Marketing for the 780-room resort. At the Grand Wailea Resort, Jim oversaw all group and leisure sales as well as the launch of Ho'olei at Grand Wailea, a private enclave of townhomes. With more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations Jim has held director level positions at luxury resorts for Hilton, Westin and One & Only Palmilla.

Barbara Schmaelzle has joined Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa as the Director of Sales & Marketing and will be responsible for leading the group and leisure sales effort for the luxury resort. Schmaelzle was previously the president of Align Hospitality Services where she provided hospitality consultation to resorts in brand transition or distress. Prior to that, Schmaelzle spent more than 17 years in sales management and marketing positions at Marriott International, where her most recent position was Market Director for their Caribbean and Mexico Resorts.

Spa Director Sharon Ogawa will spearhead the resort's 16,000-square-foot Golden Door Spa featuring 15 treatment rooms, a full-service hair and nail salon and a custom-designed fitness center. Prior to joining Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa, Ogawa opened the Golden Door Spa at the Naples Grand Resort and Club and Soothe Spa at Rose Hall Resort and Spa, Jamaica. She previously worked for Mandara Spa LLC, where she managed spa operations and opened various Mandara Spas at properties, including the Wailea Beach Marriott and Sofitel Resort Fiji.
