WHITE PLAINS, NY, January 13, 2009 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) announces the upcoming opening of The Westin Jersey City Newport on February 9, 2009 and the hotel is accepting groups and reservations. The newly constructed hotel, which was developed by the LeFrak Organization and is owned by a joint venture of LeFrak Organization and Melvin Simon & Associates, will facilitate relaxation and renewal in the heart of the waterfront financial district of Jersey City, just minutes from New York City. The Westin Jersey City Newport will provide 429 beautifully appointed guest rooms, expansive meeting facilities, upscale dining and all of the Westin brand's refreshing signature amenities and services.

Offering panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, the Hudson River and the Newport Marina, The Westin Jersey City Newport is convenient to Newark Liberty International Airport and just one block from the Pavonia - Newport PATH station, Newark Light Rail and NJTransit Buses.
