Best Western Appoints Trade Director

PHOENIX, AZ, November 2, 2006. Best Western Hotels has appointed Mark Smith as its new Director of Travel Trade and Leisure Sales.

Mark, who brings with him a wealth of experience in the travel industry, previously headed the travel trade section at Swallow Hotels, where he was responsible for over 150 properties and handled over 70 major leisure accounts across the UK. Prior to his four years in various positions with Swallow including National Sales Manager, Mark worked for Thomas Cook as a Branch Manager.

Working in conjunction with the current National Account Development Manager, Nuria Vinuesa, the main purpose of Mark's role will be to increase business for Best Western GB through leisure and travel trade sources. He plans to develop the sales business plan by giving strategic direction for the medium and long-term growth by identifying new sales channels and business opportunities.
