Sabre Takes on Scott Alvis As President, GM of SynXis

AUGUST 29, 2006. Sabre Holdings has announced the appointment of Scott Alvis as president and general manager of SynXis, Sabre's business dedicated to hotel distribution technology and services.

"Scott is a proven leader and an experienced professional in the travel industry and has spent much of his career working with travel suppliers to improve their electronic distribution," said Tom Klein, executive vice president, Sabre Holdings and group president, Sabre Travel Network and Sabre Airline Solutions."

Alvis brings more than 18 years of experience in the travel industry to his new position. Most recently, he was the vice president of enterprise marketing for Sabre Holdings. During that time, he guided the corporate strategy, market research and human factors efforts for Sabre Holdings.

Prior to that, he held the position of senior vice president of sales and marketing for Sabre Travel Network. In that role, he organized a team of sales and marketing professionals charged to focus on electronic distribution for hoteliers and other suppliers, and launched Sabre's first real time hotel availability product as well as the company's initial suite of electronic hotel advertising products.

A Sabre employee since 1990, Alvis has also held the following positions at Sabre Travel Network: vice president of airline sales and marketing, manager and managing director of professional Sabre and manager of financial analysis
